Todorov, Victor. Variants Of Nominal Stems In Proto-Semitic And Proto-Afro-Asiatic. – In: Manas: The Arab World and Islam in Cultural-Historical Perspective, Vol. 3, 2, 2017.
The article offers an analysis of the possible variety of nominal stems in Proto-Semitic and Proto-Afro-Asiatic. The general conclusion about both languages is that such variety can be presumed in nominal stems ending in two consonants. In Proto-Afro-Asiatic, variety can also be presumed in two nouns having roots which consisted of only one consonant: *p-/ *’ap (mouth), and, respectively, *č- /*’ač (person).
